Pulling the wool over the eyes
As if portraying infallibility would suffice
To gloat over the fifty six inch chest
Media toes the line at government’s behest

Quickly pouncing to avert infiltration attempts
Bravado against western neighbour does tempt
The heart shrinks at the northern frontier
Whilst territorial encroachment, Sino blatantly engineer

The premier mouthing denials at the outset,
Later clarifying initial stance, with flaws beset
When domestic outrage seeking reprisal rendered the air
Managing perceptions, the regime thought was fair

Withdrawal in Galwan after shifting the boundary,
To make a buffer zone inside Indian Territory
Yet ensconced, building bunkers and observation points
In hot springs and Gogra, to patriotic Indians does disappoint

In giving a mile for an inch
The regime does not flinch
Their sloganeering propounds a new order
Perhaps, Wuhan diplomacy extends to the border

Let alone pull-back, Chinese refuse to budge
On commitments, they are known to fudge
The Indian Republic buries its head in the sand
In the bargain, ceding chunks of land

    1. I agree with the poets philosophy. However, my piece was not about building barriers. I was trying to simply convey a sense of disapointment against the state just managing perceptions of masses in cahoots with the media and not presenting true facts on the ground.
