How To Become A Super Achiever

If you have a unflagging determination to achieve your target, you will certainly do so. Determination to pursue the goal is the beginning and end is the formula of achieving success. Everyone is born with great qualities. Potentially every man is a Superman and every woman is a Superwomen. What is required is an insatiable desire to turn this power into actuality. Success is not a gift. It is the result of your own striving.

Recognising your own capability is the essence of striving. Everyone is born with some unique qualities and success depends upon discovering it and then utilising it with sound planning. Always remember that you are created and not a creator. You have to know your limitations and external compulsions. Missing out any one of these two aspects of life will lead only to disaster. Be ambitious and not an adventurist. Be confident about your goal but never lose your modesty.

Be clear about your target but never try to achieve it at the cost of another person’s success or peace of mind. You have to be good planner but keep away from any kind of corrupt practice. It is good to be a self made person but not by usurping others rights. Never succumb to a negative experience rather turn negativity into positivity. Remember that it is not your desire that determines the course taken by the external world. It is the adjustment of desire and external realities that leads to great success.

It is a fact that no one can overrule your ambition but it is also a fact that you cannot overrule the laws of nature. So, always be realistic. Acceptance of a reality is the most important principle of any kind of success. Every human being great or small is determined to live between two different sets of compulsions, limitation and advantages. Never go beyond your limits to that which are ultimately beyond your reach. Try to maintain balance between these two aspects of life and the result shall certainly be success. Life is not a smooth journey being fraught with all kinds of odd and unwanted situations. Accept reality rather than try to fight it.

Mind, Body and Self

There are three aspects to an individual. His persona as people think he is, as he himself thinks he is and what he actually is. People judge you mostly by your outward manifestation in terms of your personality, attire, the way you carry yourself and your status in society. You judge yourself by what you think you are capable of doing, while others judge you by what you have already done.

An individual’s perception about himself is mostly coloured by the twin conditions of self importance and ego albeit in varying degrees. Very few are keen to find out the real self hidden within to ascertain ones true identity. Knowledge of the self is one of the most important fundamentals of philosophy. Whosoever departs from this world without having realised his own inner world, to him life has been of no service. It remains unlived like any other undone deed.

In self-awareness there is immense joy. The self is consciousness, supra consciousness the knowledge of pure existence. All the pain and misery is a result of not knowing the self. The divine in us manifests itself only when we subject ourselves to certain discipline. The divine operates in us, but it requires an effort to make it shine forth. The epistemological corollary is that man gets knowledge by looking inward either at his own consciousness or at the revelation it receives from another superior consciousness. Condition of the mind is the most important theme of Indian Philosophy and the first step towards realisation.

Life with a Meditative Attitude

Meditative attitude is an aspect of life. Simply closing your eyes and thinking is not meditation. In meditation you are always with yourself. When you are close to yourself, you are in meditation. If you are doing meditation you will go farther away from yourself. To awaken your meditative nature there are certain set of practices and one such powerful practice is that you observe your breath. If you cannot observe your breath, then count your breath. Make a permanent habit from today that you will never spend a day without counting hundred breaths. Count your 100 breaths and you will awaken your meditative nature.

What does it mean when your life becomes meditative.. That means your life will be full of power, creativity and strength. The environment is full of vibrations. When vibration touches your system it transforms into thought. Thought is power. I have the power to think and to create thoughts. We never use that power to think and to create thoughts. What we call thinking is not thinking. The power to think is the power of creation. With wisdom, we can think and wisdom comes with consciousness.

Discover higher consciousness by cultivating meditation. All matter is energy, energy is consciousness. When you are positive you feel healthy. When you are destructive, you start feeling different and weak. When your thoughts are positive and healthy, you feel strong. Don’t confuse your thoughts with ego, Positive thoughts are when you feel positive not just about yourself but about everyone around you. That again is born only with meditative attitude

Anger

Anger is a primeval impulse which doesn’t go through the rational part of the brain which is the Cerebral Cortex. Instead, the action flows through the area of the brain that controls our natural instinct. Anger by itself is a natural instinctive emotion but how to deal with it is a whole different ball game. So you don’t produce the next face buster. Anger is like food, it decays on delay and it can fester into resentment, hostility, hate and revenge.

Now all that can happen in a few seconds, hours or years. It is important to recognise where the fury transgresses or arise from. Sadness is nothing but anger turned inwards. The emotions are two sides of the same coin. Anger gets worse when you are drunk. Thoughts get distorted and you don’t realise what you are saying and often not even remember it.

The first step towards anger management is self awareness. When you start experiencing anger, immediately start alternative relaxation methods. From deep breathing to counting to ten, these are the most common relaxation methods in social situations. Surprisingly, a shower can work volumes. Just getting out of the house to avoid a confrontation which might end in due consequences does not work. Head out and jog. Running helps push happy chemicals instead of the emotion that is clouding your thought process. The best thing is to sip water slowly. Black humour is a great way to let off steam as well.

Taking Your Blessings for Granted

If an Angel comes to you and says “The whole of the Himalayas will be turned into gold and given to you on condition that both your eyes will be taken away”. Will you accept the offer? One person said “what is the use of mountain of gold if we don’t have eyes to behold it”. Responding to the argument it is said “It means our eyes are more precious than mountain of gold”.

Every individual is blessed with precious bounties in nature which are given by God; but seldom would you find a person who acknowledges this fact and offers gratitude to the divine from the deepest recesses of his heart. This is because we tend to take divine blessing for granted. It is the culture of ingratitude that has ruined people’s sense of morality. If you are ungrateful to God, you are ungrateful to man as well. Gratefulness is directly related to moral values. People have failed to thank God for countless bounties he has bestowed on them. Consequently, they have failed to express gratitude towards man and this has resulted in erosion of spiritual and moral values in society.

When we receive a benefit from someone, we say “thank you”. But in terms of spirit we see no result. It is a tragic situation that the thank you culture exists in form, whereas the spirit of thank you culture does not exist in the real sense. The reason is that the present thank you culture is nothing more than lip service or mere social courtesy. We must acknowledge thanks for the technologies that were available to facilitate the growth of positive thinking.

Positive thinking results in all kinds of positive human values like love, patience, honesty and compassion for all. We need to develop our thinking in such a manner that we recognise divine bounties and the contribution of human kind in creating a civilisation that is beneficial to all. It is this culture of thanks giving that can save our society from falling prey to immorality.

Lifestyle Change

Nothing requires more courage than the admission of one’s fault. The disturbance that repentance evokes in our personal and collective psyches, while ruminating over a past wrong or misdeed, is so upsetting that we tend to exhaust every other available choice before we own up. We dread the bold admission that we are in the wrong. Not only individuals but also communities and nations face this dilemma.

Human beings have a double nature capable of great sacrifice and charity and at the same time capable of committing heinous acts. This is because the instinct to do good and the instinct to do bad are intertwined with both positive and negative qualities. We tend to hurt others by our thoughtless and selfish inclinations. There are moments in our lives when we regret our actions and wish we had not done what we had. There would be hardly anyone who has not at sometime or other grappled with feelings of guilt.

In most scriptures, there is a provision of undoing wrongs. But certain wrong like murder cannot be undone. They can only be forgiven. To those who are overburdened with guilt over things that had gone wrong, there is always a way out. God offers a second chance. Even nature will. Spiritual life requires, not to be selfish, greedy or proud and so on. We have the golden rule which lays down that we should do unto other what we expect others to do unto us. And whenever we violate these rules, we become liable for strife, tension and ill health.

Repentance means change, a new beginning, it means starting all over again. Repentance is not behaviour change, it results in behaviour change. Repentance happens in your mind. It brings humility, gratitude and a desire to set things right. Our actions are changed by our hearts, our hearts are changed by our minds and minds are changed by the word of God. Repentance is not a one time experience, it is our constant teacher.
